Helping to keep the GREEN in town
Due to weather The West Greenwich Land Trust unfortunately canceled the third annual 2009 Celebrate West Greenwich event scheduled for October 18th 2009 at the Franklin Farm. This environmental and educational family day offering the “Best of West Greenwich” sponsored by the West Greenwich Land Trust has become a popular fall event each year.
Our thanks and gratitude go out to the many folks in town who contributed their time and resources to plan this event and especially to Mr. Franklin for agreeing to host this year’s event on his beautiful farm located on the corner of Route 3 and Congdon Mill Road.
Congratulations to all who participated in our pre-events: the Photo Contest, Geo-Caching Contest and the Tillinghast Pond Bobber Contest. Contest Winners are:

Due to the cancellation of the event on October 18 we were unable to draw numbers for the Tillinghast Pond Bobber Contest. We have decided to provide the two $25.00 gift certificates to Ocean State Tackle to the families who are in possession of bobbers:
Number 10 representing October
Number 18 representing the 18th of October
Please bring your bobbers to the next WG Land Trust meeting scheduled for November 10 at 7:00 Pm at Town Hall or call Steven Wright at 269-8303 to make arrangements to pick-up your prize.
HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR AT THE 2010 CELEBRATE WEST GREENWICH! VISIT OUR WEB SITE AT WWW.WGLANDTRUST.ORG THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR UPCOMING EVENTS AND INFORMATION IN WEST GREENWICH.
Our “Leave Your Troubles Behind” Limited Edition Print by Donna Kenny Kirwin will now be raffled during our March 2010 Turkey Dinner Fundraiser at the West Greenwich Fire Company #1 on Nooseneck Hill Road. Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2nd annual "Celebrate West Greenwich" event hosted by Will & Heidi Wright of Hidden Meadows Farm. The beauty of their farm and the hometown hospitality provided by the Wrights certainly made the day a whole lot brighter. Despite the weather, over three hundred people participated in events including hay rides, nature walk, water color art classes, pony rides, 4-H demonstrations, local exhibitors and vendors, New England style barbecue prepared and served the West Greenwich Fire Company #1 along with music by the award winning duo of Atwater and Donnelly. The event, sponsored by the West Greenwich Land Trust, has become the town's premier annual event to celebrate the beauty and history of scenic West Greenwich while experiencing the natural treasures in the community we live in. Visit our Calendar page throughout the winter to learn more about the many activities offered by the Land Trust and what we do to "Keep the Green in Town."
