Welcome to the official web site of West Greenwich, Rhode Island.

West Greenwich is located in Kent County and is a large rural town of 51 square miles.  It is one of the least densely populated communities in the State with roughly 6000 residents.  It has one of the highest percentages of permanent open space with 47% of the land in town preserved; including Arcadia State Park, URI/W.Alton Jones Campus and the Big River Management Area.  The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society and the West Greenwich Land Trust also have protected several large parcels, the latest being the 1600 acre Tillinghast Preserve.

Along with being one of the smallest and most rural Rhode Island towns, West Greenwich enjoys an active business community along the I-95 corridor and is home to many large businesses such as Amgen, Centrex, Conneaut and the Centre of New England.

West Greenwich continues to maintain the rural character and independent spirit that has made the town a great place to live for over 260 years.
