West Greenwich Police Department is in the process of obtaining grant money to purchase 4 new Mobile Data Terminals for our cars. The expected cost to be covered is approximately $24,000 with complete installation and setup. This is a huge savings for our department.

Officer Don Fravala has received a commendation for saving the life of a Foster woman. Officer Fravala was dispatched to a car accident on Congdon Mill Road, as the first to arrive, found the car about 20 feet off the road, engulfed in flames, and heard Ferro screaming as she tried to escape through a side window, Officer Fravala pulled Ferro to safety. Officer Fravala risked his life to save another and for that he is commended.
